NBA Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity
A team of NBA’s Young Professionals Forum and 2019 summer interns spent their Saturday volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, a global nonprofit housing organization that works in local communities across every state in the U.S. The group reported bright and early to Bankhead, a neighborhood located west of downtown Atlanta, where they helped build a new four bedroom/two bath house. When complete, the home will be approximately 1,200 square feet. Future homeowner, Vanessa, was also on site all day working alongside the volunteers.
Day one of the build included:
Setting floor joists and laying floor decking
Building of interior and exterior walls
Applying sheathing to wall panels
Install of all exterior and interior walls
Building of front and side porches
The firm can’t wait for the next building opportunity this fall! Click here to learn more about Habitat for Humanity.
