The ability to embrace the goals and values of clients has been the hallmark of an architectural career that spans 45 years. Having joined the firm in 1980, Dan is recognized for the vision and leadership he brings to projects, among them more than 30,000 multifamily units as well as numerous active senior housing and hospitality developments.
Dan is widely respected within the industry for his expertise on accessibility and issues associated with the Fair Housing Act. In addition to his architectural responsibilities, he oversees the firm’s risk management efforts and the advocacy, training and educational activities regarding appropriate design solutions for the multiple layers of governmental accessibility rules and regulations. These efforts extend back to Dan’s graduate studies dealing with the challenges posed by special need populations. His work includes advocacy for clear regulations at state and federal levels. Dan regularly provides expert testimony regarding architectural services and design under the Fair Housing Act.
Dan graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and received his Masters in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dan was certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and registered in five states. He is also active in numerous business and civic associations.
