Cannon is especially adept at defining the problem, establishing priorities and quantifying the project scope so the outlines of a solution can emerge. His extensive background in complex building types has enabled him to design and build a wide range of projects with an emphasis on education, performing arts and recreation.
Cannon is recognized for his ability to shepherd clients, particularly on committee driven projects. He builds a strong consensus to develop a master plan/design that is responsive to the stakeholders’ needs, to the program, to operations and to the budget. He is an authority on sustainable design and won the 2009 EarthCraft light commercial project of the year.
Cannon has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is NCARB Certified. He was featured in Building Design & Construction Magazine as one of “40 under 40” in 2007, and has served as lecturer and critic at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Southern Polytechnic State University. Cannon is a member of the Urban Land Institute, Young Presidents Organization, Rotary Club of Atlanta, Georgia Tech College of Design Advisory Board and has also served on steering committees for Camp Twin Lakes, Leadership Buckhead, and the Atlanta Beltline. He joined NBA in 2000.
