Kaiser Permanente Corporate 5K Run, Walk & Roll 2019

More than 40 NBA runners and walkers laced up their shoes and headed downtown for the 37th annual Kaiser Permanente Corporate 5K, which had 10,000+ participants this year! Welcoming all metro-Atlanta companies, this unique workplace-organized program encourages health and fitness among participating employees. Similar to last year’s race, the 3.1 mile course went through downtown Atlanta, including some of the city’s most popular sites and our Generation Atlanta project.

The event, which took place on September 11th, had a patriotic theme with American flags being passed out to all participants. A special ceremony was held to honor first responders and active/retired military for their sacrifice to our country.

With the new addition of “roll” to the corporate run/walk event, the firm was excited to partner with The Kyle Pease Foundation, a non-profit organization created to promote the success of athletes with disabilities by helping meet their individual needs through sports. NBAers signed up as teams or individuals to push-assist the in-chair athletes through the entire 5K course. It was inspiring to see how much joy it brought both the athletes and our ten NBA volunteers!
