Inaugural Pinewood Derby

Strip1.jpg

NBA hosted its very first Pinewood Derby! Contestants entered the race individually or with teams, and every car had a theme (bonus points for the people who coordinated a costume to go with their cars). In total, there were 32 entries. Many employees saw this event as a golden opportunity to showcase their creative talents, planning out their designs weeks in advance. For others, this was a testament to the phrase “procrastination at its finest” as they quickly assembled their cars and theme ideas the night before the big day. Regardless of the timeline, it’s safe to say that every car was a masterpiece.

Competition quickly heated up on the track (literally…one car emitted sparks). Luckily for the participants, there were plenty of awards to go around: Fastest, Slowest, Most Unfortunate Looking, Best Looking and People’s Choice.
